Will myths about taxes never end? Each year, the IRS combats misinformation, mostly related to tax refunds. Here are some myths currently in play: Getting a refund on your 2019 return means you don’t need to adjust your 2020 withholding. That’s not always true, so the IRS urges taxpayers to check and adjust their withholding now, using this estimating tool on IRS.gov. Another myth: There are secret ways to find out when your tax refund will arrive, including: by calling the IRS; calling a tax professional; or ordering your transcripts. The best way, says the IRS, is to use the “Where’s My Refund” tool, updated daily. Find these tools plus more myth-information here. For more information contact Cg. © 2020
