The U.S. Senate has passed a $484 billion bill that will expand small business aid and provide needed funds for hospitals and novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing. Specifically, the deal allocates $310 billion to replenish the Paycheck Protection Program, the lending program aimed at helping small businesses cover their payrolls during the COVID-19 pandemic. Initial funding for the program quickly ran dry earlier this month. The bill also earmarks $75 billion for hospitals to address COVID-19 expenses and lost revenue and provides $25 billion to facilitate and expand COVID-19 testing. The U.S. House is scheduled to vote on the bill on April 23 and President Trump is expected to sign it. Contact Cg with questions.
