Another filing deadline is approaching for certain taxpayers. Monday, July 15, 2024, is the 2023 federal tax return and payment due date for individuals and businesses affected by 2024 storms in Alaska, Maine and Rhode Island. The IRS typically provides tax relief to taxpayers if the Federal Emergency Management Agency declares a disaster in their area. Affected taxpayers aren’t required to personally ask for an extension unless they need time beyond July 15. If that’s your situation, file paper Form 4868 (e-filing isn’t available) to request an extension to Oct. 15, 2024. Contact us if you need help or you’re qualified for tax relief yet receive a 2023-related penalty notice. © 2024
