With temperatures cooling in many parts of the country, homeowners may want to lower their utility bills (and score tax breaks) by installing solar panels. Use caution, says the National Taxpayer Advocate (NTA). While most solar panel salespeople are honest, some are feeding customers false info, such as stating that the time to claim the related tax credit is running out. The Residential Clean Energy Credit is available through 2032. It’s equal to 30% of the cost of qualified clean energy property installed on your main home. The NTA urges taxpayers to consult tax professionals before committing to purchases with tax implications. Contact the Cg Team or visit: https://bit.ly/44Cgpkh. © 2024
