Jonathan B. Mendoza is a Supervisor in Cg Tax, Audit & Advisory’s Accounting & Auditing Services Group. Jonathan is responsible for planning and overseeing the auditing process for a an array of clients in various sizes and structures. He performs effective risk and control assessments; reviews client financial statements to ensure compliance with US GAAP; and reviews team member work for accuracy and compliance with AICPA audit guidelines. Additionally, Jonathan ensures client compliance with all relevant reporting requirements, industry regulations, and government legislation. He assists with reviewing valuation reports and accounting guidance memorandums, reports key findings to clients, and provides consultation on solutions and improvements to policies/procedure.
Jonathan began his career as a governmental auditor, auditing a variety of townships, boroughs, and school districts. He has run 6-7 simultaneous audit engagements in a variety of industries including technology, software, pharmaceuticals, financial investment, and manufacturing. Jonathan assisted on a first year SOX 404 public audit engagement gaining experience in control testing and control Framework under COSO. He also has experience with gross to net revenue, and assisted in complex audit areas such as revenue under ASC 606, lease accounting under 842, business combinations under ASC 805, as well as goodwill and intangible impairment analysis and valuations.
Jonathan has received the Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination Certificate Award, Accounting Honors Award, and the Best Business Plan Award from Monmouth University Business.
Jonathan graduated from Monmouth University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Monmouth County Young Professionals.
